We all wear several hats each day—friend, sibling, employee, parent—constantly switching them out as needed, and often donning multiple at once. With all those hats come expectations and responsibilities that make it easy to lose sight of who’s underneath.
At Arcora, we always see you. Our mental health counselling and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) supports offer a place to hang those hats for a while, focus on your own well-being and experience our people-first approach to care. Wondering what that means for you? Read on to find out!
Our People-First Approach to Counselling
We know that effective mental health support means something different for everyone—each of our clients has unique challenges, needs and circumstances to consider. That’s why we ensure our counselling is accessible, flexible and focused on meaningful outcomes.
- With plenty of options, we’ll find the right support for you.
- You and your family can access individual, couples or family counselling to help navigate an array of personal or work-related challenges in whatever way works best—in person, by phone, virtually or a hybrid approach.
- We have an extensive network of professionals throughout Canada, offering goal-oriented counselling through a wide variety of specialties and methodologies.
- People are complex, things change and we get it.
- Our thorough matching process helps ensure that we offer the best possible matches for each and every client. And because we understand the crucial role of the therapeutic alliance, you can always request to be matched with a different counsellor if you feel that yours isn’t the right fit.
- We also offer a unique ‘bring your own counsellor’ option. Meaning that if you have an existing counselling relationship with a professional outside of our network, and it’s therapeutically in your best interest, you can request to work with your counsellor through Arcora.
- Unlike most providers, who require a highly structured, single-focus approach to treatment, ours is much more fluid. As long as you’re working within your counsellor’s scope of practice and continuing to benefit from your sessions, your goals can change throughout the course of counselling.
- We care about your care, every step of the way.
- Traditionally, EAP providers discontinue counselling access for individuals who are off work, despite this often being the time when it’s needed most. Because Arcora isn’t a traditional provider, if you have access to our mental health counselling through your employer, you can start or continue using this support whether you’re actively working or on a leave.
- And remember the therapeutic alliance we mentioned? Another way we protect this key bond is by supporting you to continue seeing your Arcora counsellor privately (and through your Extended Healthcare benefits, if available) in the rare event that you use all your allotted counselling hours before the year is up.
Our People-First Approach to EAP Supports
Along with counselling, these supports work together to address the many dimensions of well-being—physical, mental, social, financial and beyond. This includes…
- …nourishing your body and mind. There are many reasons to connect with a Registered Dietitian through our nutritional guidance, like managing a chronic condition, gaining a better understanding of your personal nutritional needs and so much more.
- …guiding you through personal legal and financial challenges. Struggling to understand legal jargon? Taking advantage of Financial Literacy Month and looking for support with creating a budget? Dealing with legal and financial matters is part of life, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Luckily, our professionals offer expert guidance to help with the hard parts.
- …supporting you as a caregiver. Whether you’re a parent of young children or caring for an older family member, we’ve got you. Instead of spending hours searching for a daycare, you can lean on our childcare navigation support—we’ll find options that meet your needs. With our eldercare guidance, you can connect with an expert who understands the nuances of care management for older adults and can answer your questions.
Our People-First Approach to Accessing Support
Ready to take that crucial first step? Well, hats off to you! Reaching out can be intimidating, but know that when you do, there will be a person on the other end to greet you with compassion and empathy, understand your challenges and work to find the right care for you.
