What should I expect when requesting employer-referred mental health counselling?

Employers
If you’re looking to refer an employee for counselling, you simply:
- Provide your employee with our phone number (1-877-412-7483) and certificate and policy (or customer) number. You can also direct them to our online form to request support.
- Once they contact us, they’ll have a confidential conversation with a member of our intake team (or will complete details on the form), who will actively listen to their concerns and work with them to identify and match them to the counsellor from our network best suited to meet their needs.
- The counsellor will then connect with them and they’ll work together to address their issue either in person, by phone or virtually.
Individuals
If your employer has made a counselling referral on your behalf, they receive no information pertaining to your counselling sessions.
While your employer may be provided with high-level, aggregate program usage reports on occasion, these reports never include any identifying information. In fact, if there is any risk of exposure at all, we simply don’t issue them because your privacy comes first.
