Domestic Violence: Everyone’s Business (Virtual)

While it may seem that collective awareness can have some positive effects on the social problem of domestic violence, the fact remains that it’s still an issue within our society, claiming many victims. Victims may sometimes include colleagues, acquaintances and family members. The aim of this training course is to clearly identify the problem, its manifestations and consequences, as well as the signs associated with domestic violence. It will enable you to take preventive action with victims, in addition to meeting the legal requirements coming into force on October 27, 2020. Bill 59 aimed at reforming the occupational health and safety system, which is where this course will mainly draw your attention to (i.e., psychosocial risks). You will then be in a position to act as an agent of change to lift the veil on the reality of domestic violence, to understand the relational system of force and domination by which the abuser establishes and maintains a hold over their victim and the cycle in which the abuser attempts to continually defeat all the victim’s reactions in order to keep them under their control. You can then contribute by being an agent of change yourself!

Access this course either in person or virtually. Travel expenses (which may vary by location) will apply for in person sessions.
