Building Education Savings
A Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) is a smart way to save for a child’s education. The plan can earn up to $7,200 in free money from federal government grants, and withdrawals from the plan are taxed in the hands of the beneficiary student—usually at a low tax rate. This module will provide you with an overview of the RESP program and help you understand why (and how) all parents should be trying to maximize the program.
